ZiO-Podolsk and JNPC Sign Agreement on Steam Generators for Tianwan
OREANDA-NEWS. A starting agreement has been signed to launch production of steam generators for Units 3 and 4 of Tianwan Phase II.
The agreement was signed between ZiO-Podolsk (part of ROSATOM’s machine engineering division, Atomenergomash), Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC, PRC) and Atomstroyexport (United Company NIAEP-ASE).
The document was signed after an inspection of the company’s preparedness for manufacture of this equipment, which had been conducted in accordance with the contract terms and conditions.
The customer’s representatives checked on the availability and quality of all required design and technological documentation; on whether the welding technology was certified; and on qualifications of the staff. The Chinese colleagues inspected conditions in the company’s laboratories and reviewed their accreditation documents. They also visited production shops where, in addition to their equipment, focused on housekeeping, cleanness arrangements as well as possibilities for tests as set forth by the engineering documentation requirements. During the visit the customers toured to the steam generator welding and assembly shop, specifically, coil section, SG “clean” assembling section and welding section store room where they could assess inspection and storage conditions of welding materials.
In the course of the inspection JNPC representatives focused on improvement of the procurement service operation as regards assessment and selection of vendors of structural materials, Tatiana Lizunova, Director for Quality at ZiO-Podolsk, emphasized.
Following the inspection results, a positive record stating that ZiO-Podolsk is ready to start manufacturing four steam generators for Tianwan Phase II was formalized.
