OREANDA-NEWS. As part of social commitments stipulated in the protocol for 2013 to the Cooperation Agreement with the Administration of the Nenets Autonomous District, Bashneft-Polyus, a joint venture of JSOC Bashneft and OJSC Lukoil, funded construction of a new outpatient clinic in the village of Krasnoye in the Zapolyarny District of the Nenets Autonomous District.

The project involved designing and constructing a building with the area of 670 sq. m, connecting, testing and adjusting utility systems and equipment, decorating the rooms and buying furniture. Local contractors were employed to do the work. Structural and technical solutions were adopted taking into account the harsh climate of the Far North. Expenditure on the construction of the outpatient clinic incurred by Bashneft-Polyus is assessed at approximately 35 million roubles.

The opening ceremony held on January 29 was attended by the Governor of the Nenets Autonomous District Igor Fedorov, Bashneft's President Alexander Korsik, the Company's First Vice President for Upstream and Geology Mikhail Stavskiy and the General Director of LLC Bashneft-Polyus Vladimir Nesterenko.

'We are glad that this is a targeted project aimed at improving the living conditions in the village of Krasnoye, making high-quality health care more available, and creating favourable working conditions for doctors,' stated the General Director of LLC Bashneft-Polyus Vladimir Nesterenko. 'Bashneft-Polyus and the Administration of the Nenets Autonomous District will continue to cooperate on targeted social projects for the benefit of all residents of the region.'

'Bashneft-Polyus has become a reliable and responsible partner of the Nenets Autonomous District in operational and social programmes,' commented the Governor of the Nenets Autonomous District Igor Fedorov. 'Although the company's operations in the region have only recently reached an active stage, it has a clear understanding of the region's distinguishing characteristics and problems facing the local community.'

Note: LLC Bashneft-Polyus, a joint venture of JSOC Bashneft and OJSC Lukoil (whose stakes total 74.9% and 25.1% respectively), operates the development of the R. Trebs and A. Titov fields in the Nenets Autonomous District. In August 2013, Bashneft-Polyus started pilot production at the fields. In 2013 production totalled 291 thousand tonnes of oil. Between February 2011 and June 2013, over 20 billion roubles were invested in the project. Under the Cooperation Agreement with the Administration of the Nenets Autonomous District, in 2012 and 2013 Bashneft-Polyus allocated over 63 million roubles for providing charity support to the District, including over 40 million roubles in 2013.
