Moldova to Foster Regional Development Cooperation with Austria
OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2014. Deputy Regional Development and Construction Minister Liviu Oboroc and Head of Coordination and Technical Cooperation Bureau of Austria Gerhard Schaumberger set prospects for bilateral cooperation in regional development at a meeting.
According to the Regional Development and Construction Ministry’s (MDRC) press service, the two officials discussed priorities for implementing projects and analysed possibilities of financing joint projects to boost the development of the northern, central and southern regions of Moldova.
Attending the meeting, Head of MDRC’s International Relations and Investments Department Svetlana Rogov, nominated the sectors in need of assistance in regional development and constructions and noted the possibilities of cooperation at present.
Another topic of the meeting was the need to align the existent Moldovan regulations with the European system of regulations and standards, as well as the necessity to develop national annexes.
The sides also discussed aspects on the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), in which both Moldova and Austria are participating countries.
At the end of the meeting, the officials agreed to provide needed information to boost the bilateral cooperation. At the same time, they also expressed willingness for an efficient collaboration in view of developing the Moldovan regions.
