By Late January Daltransugol Transships 50m Tonnes of Coal
OREANDA-NEWS. Daltransugol (the Khabarovsk Territory) is the easternmost point of BAM (Baikal-Amur Railway). The Terminal was put into operation in late 2008 at the rated throughput of 12m tonnes a year. In 2013, the transshipment volume was 13.7m tonnes. The Terminal handles vessels boasting up to 170K tonnes cargo capacity. To provide sea-going transport for outbound coal SUEK has entered into a number of long-term charter contracts for ice class reinforced Panamax dry bulk carriers including a 10 year contract with OAO Sovcomflot. The Terminal has its own towing fleet. The years 2010-2012 witnessed the start of operations to enhance the Terminal's rated capacity in parallel with raising the throughput of the Far Eastern Railway and launching a new tunnel through the Kuznetsovsky Pass. At its current capacity the Terminal handles up to 24m tonnes of cargoes.
The Vanino bulk carrier terminal was built by SUEK in the Khabarovsk Territory to eliminate the shortage of port capacities in the East of the country and is intended for shipping coal to Asia Pacific markets.
