OREANDA-NEWS. Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 2 Colliery run by SUEK-Kuzbass has launched Granch SBGPS, the monitoring, warning and rescue system for people caught up in emergency.

The system is integral part of the Smart Mine GORNASS package by the research-and-production firm Granch. It fully complies with Safety regulations.

A network of base stations providing constant radio coverage along all mine sections, ensures reliable surveillance of personnel movement and machinery conditions in the mine, communication between workers and the dispatch manager, retrieval and rescue of miners caught up in emergency, gas monitoring in the personnel operation area. The mine dispatch manager can any time focus on a desired portion of the mine, determine the number of people in this mine section, get the needed information on employees, read the data of sensors integrated in individual lamps.

All events are recorded to a server and maintained there for one year. The dispatcher software offers a "time belt" mode to track down personnel movement with up to the second precision at any desired moment.

The equipment was installed by the team of Technologicheskaya Svyaz production unit, part of SUEK-Kuzbass. The installed equipment comprises 104 base stations including 24 km of cables laid, 16 controllers and 9 mine lighting devices assembled and put into operation.

Launching Granch SBGPS at Taldinskaya Zapadnaya 2 provided the centralized control room of SUEK-Kuzbass with 3D models of the Company's three collieries located in the Prokopyevsk region, thus enhancing the mining safety monitoring level.
