OREANDA-NEWS. In 2013 AKHANGARANCEMENT, part of EUROCEMENT group allocated 2.2 billion som of charitable assistance to various organizations and institutions in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

One of the plant's priorities is to support sports projects. In 2013 for these purposes the company transferred more than one billion som: 820 million som to the Children's Sports Development Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 153.5 million som to the country's Weightlifting Federation, 81.92 million som to the Olympic and Paralympic Committees. These donations accounted for about half (48 %) of the total amount of plant's charitable activity in the past year.

From 2006 to 2013 the plant donated more than 2.5 billion som to the Children's Sports Development Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Over these past years the program fund in the Akhangaran district has implemented 6 major projects worth 2.07 billion som: gymnasium construction at three schools, renovation at a children's school of music and art, reconstruction of the central stadium in Akhangaran, as well as repairing the swimming pool at a children's sports school.

Since the beginning of the state charity program in 2009 on supporting the development of weightlifting in the Republic of Uzbekistan 488.3 million som have been allocated to this sport's Federation by AKHANGARANCEMENT. At the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London the Federation was supported by 6 athletes, two of whom - Ruslan Nuritdinov and Ivan Yefremov - took 4th and 5th places respectively in their weight categories. In 2013, a student of the Andijan Pedagogical Institute, Ruslan Nuritdinov won gold medals at the XXVII Summer Universiade held in Kazan, the Asian Championship in Astana (Kazakhstan) and the World Championships in weightlifting in the city of Wroclaw (Poland).

AKHANGARANCEMENT also allocated money to implement a number of other major events in the Republic of Uzbekistan including capital reconstruction at the Aktash sanatorium (Tashkent region), repairing the dormitory at the Tashkent Architecture and Construction Institute, organizing celebrations on the Day of Memory and Honor, Independence Day, New Year held in Tashkent; repairs of Thomas the Apostle's orthodox temple in the village of Soldatskoye in the Urtachirchik district of the Tashkent region, etc.

The company also continues to provide significant charitable assistance in the Akhangaran district of the republic. In 2013 the following projects were implemented: roof repair on residential buildings, kindergartens, a district hospital, and support for veterans living in city, the needy, etc.

Since Akhangarancement joined EUROCEMENT group in 2006 the plant has allocated more than 7.6 billion som for charity.
