OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2014. The iThra Knowledge Program just opened its doors in Jiddah, the second stop on its tour around the Kingdom in 2014.

The program is featuring lots of stunning performances, visitor interactions and scientific and cultural activities — once again under the theme “You’ve never seen it before!”.

Following on the back of the successful event and activities enjoyed by the nearly 300,000 visitors to the premiere launch of the cultural program, Jiddah is again offering the tremendously popular 101 Inventions That Changed the World, Traffic Safety Village, Energy Efficiency Pavilion, Children’s Art Contest with this year’s theme, “Let’s Green It,” and a full live performance schedule.

What is brand new for Jiddah will be an Audio Visual Competition (Powered by You-Tube), where organizers hope to encourage and develop high-end media material from the participating local high schools and universities. This program should create a positive buzz through YouTube celebrities in the Kingdom.

Visitors will also be introduced to the subject of energy efficiency by an immersive experience that is housed in an eye-catching dome structure. This experience will take the visitor on a journey through everyday activities and interactions before cutting to a blank page and promoting the theme “…imagining a world without energy.”. This introduction section will set the tone of the pavilion, which will be serious and informative, yet highly entertaining.

Back by popular demand is the 1001 Inventions and the World of Light, which brings an interactive experience that uncovers the inspirational journey of young Arab scientists 1,000 years ago, exploring the scientific heritage inspired from Islamic civilization and its innovative pioneers, which is designed to contribute to fostering the cultural identity and promoting dialog between the Islamic Arab civilization and world civilizations.

The Jiddah iThra Knowledge Program runs from January 15 to February 13.
