Zaporizhstal Completes Second Stage of Weighing Facilities Modernizing
OREANDA-NEWS. Zaporizhstal SW has completed the second stage of the large-scale renovation of the Works’ weighing facilities as a part of Metinvest Group’s strategic programme on improving the products quality and production process modernization; investments volume made up UAH 7.3 million.
It bears reminding that since 2012, Zaporizhstal SW has been implementing the electronic system of weighing, covering all main cargo traffic of the Works, with the aim to provide the precise management of raw material and ready products. In the course of the second stage, the weighing systems had been installed in three shops of the Works: — Sinter Plant, Blooming Mill Shop and Slag Processing Shop. All the weighing systems are constructed according to the same principle of weighing data generation, providing the high-quality metering and information security.
So, installation of the modern weighing system in the Slag Processing Shop permitted to carry out the complete control of granulated slag weighing process at the place of its shipping, to exclude any probability for returning of the overloaded or under-loaded cars back to the Works; it is economically effective for UAH 1.6 million per year.
The Modernization Programme of the Works’ weighing facilities foresees also a complex of measures directed to providing of the weighing process control — namely, laying of fiber-optic communication lines for centralizing and measuring data security, data transmission from all the weighing units to the Works’ general data base, database backup; installation of the vision-based inspection systems, etc..
