OREANDA-NEWS. The Hefei South high-speed railway station in Anhui province, dubbed Hefei's "transportation hub," is expected to open for use during National Day.

Once put in use, 90 percent of G and D trains at Hefei railway station will move operations to Hefei South, according to the Anhui Municipal Development and Reform Department.

The Hefei South high-speed railway station is a five-story structure that allows people to achieve "zero transfer" between high-speed rail, subway, bus, taxi and other transportation methods.

Railway construction focuses on Hefei in order to expand external traffic. The Anhui section of the Hefei high-speed railway will be completed this year and is expected to open to traffic in the first half of next year. By then, travel from Hefei to Fuzhou will require only 4 hours.

Hefei will also build an airport emergency channel in Xinqiao Airport Industrial Park. Four high-speed railways-Hening, Hean, He Chaowu and He Liuye-will undergo expansions, increasing to eight lanes from the original four lanes.
