Moldovan National Roads to Be Restored in Coming Years
OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2014. More national roads will be restored by 2016. A draft on declaring the restoration, modernisation and expansion of national roads as national interest and public utility was approved by the government.
The roads which are going to be restored are: Soroca-Arionesti-Mogilev Podolski (Ukraine), Balti-Soldanesti-Ribnita, Balti-Falesti-Sculeni, Rezina-Orhei-Calarasi, Anenii Noi-Causeni-Stefan Voda-Ukrainian border, Hincesti-Lapusna-M1, Hincesti -Leova-Cahul-Slobozia Mare.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) will allot about 183 million euros for the restoration of five out of the seven roads. The other two roads will be restored from the state budget resources. As much as 380 million lei will be earmarked on this purpose.
Transport and Road Infrastructure Minister Vasile Botnari said the feasibility studies and projects on carrying out works for modernising the concerned roads had been worked out with the support of the EU and World Bank.
