Fraport Doubles Free Wi-Fi Access Time in Frankfurt Airport
OREANDA-NEWS. Fraport AG, the owner and manager of Frankfurt Airport (FRA), continues to expand its Internet service at FRA. Effective immediately, passengers and visitors at FRA can use their own digital devices to access the airport’s Wi-Fi network for 60 minutes free of charge.
Available throughout FRA’s passenger terminals, Fraport’s Wi-Fi access is considerably longer than the free Internet access offered at other major European airports. Internet access at FRA is facilitated via the HotSpot portal of Deutsche Telekom, Germany’s largest telecommunications provider. With only a few clicks to get online, passengers can check their e-mails and search the Internet.
Fraport has increased the free HotSpot access time from 30 to 60 minutes to enhance the time spent by visitors at Germany’s largest aviation hub and to meet the needs of today’s increasingly mobile and networked digital society. Each user can take advantage of this free Wi-Fi access once per day. Although the online session ends automatically after one hour, a timer continuously shows how much free time is still left, so users are not surprised. Furthermore, users can remain online after the free hour expires by purchasing a 24-hour ticket for €4.95 with their credit card.
To make layovers and transfers even more pleasant for passengers at FRA, Fraport AG launched its “Great to Have You Here!” service quality program several years ago. Exhanced Wi-Fi access at Frankfurt Airport is another example of this program in action.
