OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2014. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Ordinance No. 1 “Concerning state regulations in poppy seeds trade”.

The document was prepared by the Interior Ministry in cooperation with the Belarus President Administration and the State Secretariat of the Security Council. The document provides for a number of measures aimed at terminating illegal import and trade of poppy seeds in Belarus.

In particular, the state has the exclusive right of wholesale trade in poppy seeds.
