OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2014. Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov met with Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA ) Maria van der Hoeven.

The prospects of further cooperation of Kazakhstan and the IEA in the energy sector, the implementation of projects in the field of energy efficiency, the introduction of green technologies were discussed during the meeting.

Akhmetov and M.Hoeven have also exchanged opinions on current situation in the global energy market.

Head of Government spoke in favour for the participation of the IEA in the preparation of EXPO -2017, the main theme of which is Future Energy.
