OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2014. A press conference of Nail Maganov, General Director of JSC TATNEFT, was held for representatives of the federal and republican mass media. The General Director of the Company esteemed the results and projects of the last year and informed about the plans for 2014.

In the beginning of the press conference Nail Maganov said about the main results of the Company's activities. According to the preliminary data the volume of crude oil production amounted to 26.107 million tons in 2013. The indicators of the financial and economic activities in 2013 are expected to be at sufficiently high level. The final results will be summarized after determination of the actual operations results for 2013.

Development of extra-viscous oil production at Ashalchinskoye field was continued, where the production of the extra-viscous oil amounted to 146 thousand tons over the past year. The aggregate volume of extra-viscous oil produced since the beginning of the field development amounted to more than 326 thousand tons.

Processing of crude oil at the JSC "TANECO" refinery was characterized in 2013 by securing stable supplies of raw materials and a high degree of the refinery's production capacity utilization.

The General Director of the Company answered numerous questions of the reporters. In particular, they focused on the strategy of the crude oil production development in the coming years. The Company's long-term plans include  maintaining stable crude oil production at the current level, increase in oil production through application of enhanced oil recovery methods, further development of extra-viscous oil fields and study of the issues related with shale oil production, etc.

There were many questions put to the General Director referring the activities of JSC "TANECO".  Nail Maganov pointed out that the plans for the current year provide for completing  commissioning and putting into operation of the facilities of the combined hydrocracking installation, which will allow increasing the yield of light oil products and starting production of motor fuels of the European level; comprehensive testing of the lube oil production plant, etc.

The journalists were also interested in the Company's plans of developing the areas outside Tatarstan and Russia, issues of stimulating processing of extra-viscous oil, development of the JSC TATNEFT's network of filling stations, as well as the social projects of the Company and other matters.

At the end of the press conference Nail Maganov thanked the media for their attention to the activities of TATNEFT, fairness and promptness in covering the industrial and social activities of the Company.

Also some representatives of the media were awarded based on the results of the journalistic contest dedicated to 70 years of Tatarstan Oil. The awardees included representatives of news agencies, republican newspapers and television.
