Auckland Airport Announces New General Manager of Property
OREANDA-NEWS. Auckland Airport has announced the appointment of Mark Thomson to the company’s Leadership Team.
Adrian Littlewood, Auckland Airport’s chief executive, says, “Mark’s appointment follows an extensive domestic and international search, and completes the restructure and recruitment of Auckland Airport’s senior management team.”
“Mark will lead the property team and be responsible for continuing to transform the airport into a vibrant business destination, developing new commercial business premises and attracting high-profile companies.”
“Mark has more than 20 years’ experience in real estate management and development and he has a wealth of experience in the transport and logistics sectors. He is currently living in Singapore and is the Director of Strategy Execution and Property for Toll Global Logistics with responsibility for a real estate portfolio spread across China, South East Asia and India. Mark has structured over USUSD 500 million of development projects and negotiated more than 500,000 square metres of office and industrial leases across Asia-Pacific.”
“He started his career in commercial brokerage in New Zealand and has since managed portfolios for the Crown Estate Commissioners (London) and Telecom New Zealand, as well as advising many other corporates on real estate matters. Before relocating to Singapore, Mark was National Property and Development Manager for Toll New Zealand.”
Mark Thomson says, “I am very much looking forward to returning to New Zealand and working at Auckland Airport. This is an exciting time to be joining the company as it implements its 30-year vision for the ‘airport of the future’, and realises its goal of being New Zealand’s best business location.”
“My experience in forging customer partnerships for quality developments within Toll's recently completed SGD 300 million Loyang supply base commercial property development in Singapore transfers well into the opportunities at Auckland Airport, and I am delighted to be leading the airport’s property team through its next phase of growth.”
Mark Thomson will start work at Auckland Airport in early April 2014.
