OREANDA-NEWS. ASTARTA harvested 760 thousand tonnes of grains and oilseeds (+45 y-o-y) with materially higher yields y-o-y

2,1 million tonnes of sugar beet were grown. Average yield per hectare was 56 tonnes (+7% y-o-y)

305 thousand tonnes of high quality white sugar was produced. It is over 25 % of the total Ukrainian sugar production. 85% of sugar was produced from own sugar beet

Milk production was 91 thousand tonnes (+8% y-o-y)

“In 2013, we managed to improve ASTARTA's operational efficiency. The Group achieved good progress in crop yields and in the dairy farming performance. Sugar plants became more cost effective. Same time we finished construction of a Soybeans Processing Plant and Bioenergy Facility in Globino, implemented of important projects in grain logistic and acquired the Novoorzhitski sugar plant, thus materially strengthened a production base of ASTARTA. Alongside with that we see a lot of potential for improvements and will further enhance operational efficiency of the business in all key segments”.
