OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2014. Based on the results of 2013 summed up by the government commission of the Fuel & Energy Complex on increasing the efficiency of associated petroleum gas utilization JSC TATNEFT is in the second place in terms of utilization of the associated petroleum gas. JSC "Surgutneftegas" is in the first place, while JSC "Novatek" is ranking the third.

Government Resolutions No. 7 (2009) and No.1148 (2012) established a 95 percent standard of associated petroleum gas utilization and high penalties for excessive gas flaring.

TATNEFT Company is accomplishing a corporate program for associated petroleum gas (APG) utilization providing for maintenance of the associated petroleum gas effective utilization level at 95 percent.

Production of associated petroleum gas at JSC TATNEFT amounted to 921.5 million m3 in 2013 while the utilization ratio amounted to 95.1 percent.

The main areas of using APG at the Company include recycling at its own gas processing facilities to obtain gas products, as well as use as fuel for oil heaters and in the electricity generating installations.
