OREANDA-NEWS. The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on December 25 approved the agreement on production and turnover of ethyl alcohol and liquor products on the territory of the Customs Union (CU) and the Single Economic Space (SES), the EEC said in a press-release.

The document specifies basic standards for alcohol production and trade on the national level and the level of the CU common market. The document suggests optimizing the government's control over the alcohol market in the CU framework with focus on internationally accepted standards and good manufacturing practices.

The document suggests fostering fair competition on the CU alcohol market and encourages member states to remove import restrictions and other barriers.
