83 Kazakh Patients Sent for Treatment Abroad Using Budget Funds
OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2014. In 2013, 83 Kazakhstan patients were sent for treatment abroad using budget funds, according to the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health sent 83 patients for treatment in foreign clinics, nearly half of them were children under 18 years.
Mostly they were sent to the best clinics of Germany, Austria, Israel, Turkey, South Korea, Russia and Belarus.
20 patients with blood disorders were sent for bone marrow transplantation.
However, as highlighted in the report , based on domestic clinics created sufficient capacity to provide a number of high-tech medical services on a global level .
At the same time the National Research Medical Center of Kazakhstan for the first time conducted transplantation of liver from related donors to four adult patients. The surgeries were attended by experts from South Korea. The National Research Center for Maternal and Child Health conducted kidney transplantation to a child from a related donor.
The Ministry of Health intends to continue to implement all measures to stimulate domestic clinics to assist patients applying for treatment abroad.
