Court Confirms FAS Decision on Dubki Meat Plan
OREANDA-NEWS. January 06, 2014. Saratov Regional Arbitration Court pronounced legitimacy of a determination issued by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) to impose an administrative fine upon “Dubki” Meat Plant” Ltd. (Dubki village, the Saratov region).
Earlier FAS found that 20 participants of an auction for supplying food products for the needs of the Ministry of Defence, the Federal Guard Service, and the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation were involved in collusion with the aim to maintain the maximum prices. The antimonopoly authority imposed turnover fines upon the auction winners.
“The participants of the agreement divided in advance the auction lots between themselves, which enabled than to conclude government contracts at the maximum price. The total sum of the fines imposed upon the cartel participants exceeds 30 million RUB. FAS actively combats bid-rigging, considering it one of the most socially dangerous violation of the antimonopoly law”, pointed out the Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Andrey Tenischev.
