OREANDA-NEWS. December 31, 2013. Terms of a credit in the amount of USD 15 billion granted by Russia to Ukraine do not provide for early redemption and returns.

This was stated by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in the Exam for the Government program on the First National TV Channel.

"Agreements of two presidents and these conditions, on which we signed the credit, do not provide any early returns and redemptions. We will use this credit as we consider it is necessary," the Prime Minister said, commenting on the statements of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the RF Igor Shuvalov that the credit is issued on harsh conditions and Russia may demand its repayment at any time.

The Prime Minister also said that the credit is granted to Ukraine "on exceptionally favorable" conditions.

"Credit granted to Ukraine on favorable conditions. In these tough economic environments, in which we are, when foreign investors plait ropes out of us and laid an unbelievable interest rate of return, Russia has offered us a loan at 5 percent, which helped us to save the situation and avoid its sharp deterioration and lay good prospects for 2014," Mykola Azarov said.
