OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2013. IBA Group participated in a workshop entitled IBM System z: A Reliable Platform for Business Critical Tasks. Organized by IBM EE/A and IBA Group, the event was held in Minsk, Belarus.

The workshop was aimed at informing potential consumers about IBM System z.

Opening the event, Andrey Filatov, IBM Hardware Department Director for CIS, and Gennady Molchanov, IBA Minsk Sales Director for CIS countries, welcomed the attendees.
At the workshop, IBM EE/A delivered the following presentations:

zEnterprise: IT infrastructure that meets up-to-date business requirements

System z: a perfect platform for new approaches and solutions.

At the roundtable discussion, the following views were expressed:

Belarusian customers are interested not in abstract examples but in real-world solutions tested in Russia, other CIS countries, and globally. Thus, IBM customers are able to choose frameworks, as well as technical and infrastructure solutions that best suit their needs within the public, banking, transport, and energy sectors.

For large-scale national infrastructure projects in Belarus, a preliminary system modeling in IBM research centers is needed. To identify the best possible infrastructure configurations and topologies, IBM offers prototyping of heterogeneous IT environment and verification of design decisions under load.
