OREANDA-NEWS. Domodedovo Airport representatives attended a working meeting of Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow Region, with heads of industrial enterprises and educational institutions. They discussed the possibility of cooperation of educational institutions with Russian employers and topics related to vocational secondary education.

During the meeting, Domodedovo representatives presented to the head of the regional government the Inflow Program that the airport has been successfully implementing for over ten years. The project was developed to attract talented and motivated young people to the company giving them a chance to be employed with enterprises of the largest Russian airport.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport has developed a unique strategy for training qualified professionals, thus guaranteeing a regular inflow of employees. Even schoolchildren can become participants of the Inflow Program: training courses at educational institutions and introductory programs on the basis of the airport are organized them. Students participating in the program attend lectures and master classes carried out by Domodedovo experts, as well as do practical training at the airport enterprises. Scholarships are awarded as a result of successful completion of the targeted training.

The Inflow Program sparked particular interest of the head of the region, since training of specialists having industry-specific education and their targeted employment are one of the priorities of the Moscow Region.

Following the meeting, it was decided to establish an HR Coordination Board under the Government of the Moscow Region which will focus on the search for optimal and efficient solutions in this area. It is expected that successful business leaders and directors of educational institutions will become members of the Board. The Coordinating Board will be chaired by the head of the region.

The Inflow Program aimed at training young professionals has been implemented by Moscow Domodedovo Airport since 2000; it keeps changing, improving depending on the Company's development and the labor market conditions. Today, the program includes 1,500 participants. This is an opportunity for schoolchildren and students to obtain professional skills, to get acquainted with the structure, business profile and corporate culture of the Company. The most successful students are invited to participate in thematic Business Games simulating a real operating cycle of the Company.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest air hub in Russia, and in 2012, its total passenger traffic amounted 28.2 million people. It falls into the category of the largest airports in Europe and is among the top three fastest growing airports in Europe according to the ACI Europe classification. Since 2009, it has been holding the title of the best airport in Eastern Europe as rated by Skytrax. Domodedovo is the base airport in Moscow for member airlines of the largest global airline alliances - Star Alliance and oneworld.
