OREANDA-NEWS. The Power Engineers' Day, the management of the PJSC Stroytransgaz Energy Construction block together with the delegation of JSC FGC UES, headed by Andrey Murov, the Chairman of the JSC FGC UES Board, visited Dorokhovo, the new 500 kV transformer plant, located in Mozhaisk District of the Moscow Region. This is the first energy project of the Second Moscow 500 kV Energy Ring. The installed transformer capacity is 1669 MVA. The investments totaled 5.8 billion rubles.

The transformer plant is part of the project for construction of power distribution facilities of Unit No. 4 of Kalininskaya NPP, the General Contractor of which is STG Group.Andrey Murov, the Chairman of the JSC FGC UES Board, congratulated those present on their professional holiday and noted the importance of the event: “We are at the first transformer plant of the Second Moscow 500 kV Energy Ring. The Federal Grid Company continues to strengthen and develop the Moscow power system. In recent years we have invested nearly 68 billion rubles in the development of the power grid complex in the Moscow Region, increased the capacity by 11.5 thousand MVA and provided a major part of the Moscow Region with extra electrical power. Today, within the framework of the investment program of the Company, we perform construction, modernization and expansion of 8 transformer plants and some overhead power transmission lines. All these will allow the region to develop industrial and social projects.”

After activation of Dorokhovo 500 kV transformer plant, there was received extra power, which can improve the power supply in a number of districts: Mozhaisky, Ruzsky, Naro-Fominsky, Odintsovsky and Istrinsky. It has up-to-date highly reliable switching equipment, automated technological process control system, microprocessor-based relay protection and automation devices, modern communication equipment, transformer monitoring systems, security systems and video surveillance systems.
