OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2013. Ukraine will not change its policy aimed at reducing consumption of imported gas and increase its energy efficiency due to the reduction of Russian gas prices.

This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov in the Shuster Live talk show on the INTER television channel.

"There have been happened a euphoria just in the initial days that if gas fell it is possible to continue to burn it again. No, it is not. I’ve gathered all those responsible for this issue and I demand in no way to reduce all the activities that we had intended to reduce gas consumption – it is mandatory," the Prime Minister said.

At the same time he said that the Government will consider the reduction of gas price soon for enterprises where gas is a technological raw material in order to resume their work as soon as possible.

"The reduction of gas price is a huge range of activities to revive our national economy, housing and communal services, public sector, etc.," Mykola Azarov stressed.
