Rosoboronexport Adapts Russia's MTC to iOS
OREANDA-NEWS. The English version of “Russia's MTC,” a book published by Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation), will be available for downloading on iPhone, iPod and iPad mobile devices via iTunes app since January 1, 2014. It has been called “Russian Arms.”
Over the past three years “Russia's MTC” has been published twice. The first edition, which incorporated the entire history of military-technical cooperation (MTC) between Russia and foreign countries for more than a 100-year period, was released in the paper version in 2010 to mark the occasion of Rosoboronexport's 10th anniversary.
The second enlarged edition was released in 2013 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the domestic MTC system. The decision to adapt the English version of the publication to mobile devices running on the iOS platform was made to make the book more accessible to foreign experts who are interested in the history of Russia's MTC.
The book contains links to many monographs and unique archival documents published for the first time. This edition is encyclopedic in nature and is of a great historical value.
As its title suggests, “Russian Arms” focuses on the achievements of the national defense industry enabling Russia to rank among the global arms market leaders.
The authors are looking into the possibility of adapting the book to Android, which will significantly expand its readership.
