Moldova, FAO to Collaborate within Programme
OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2013. Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vasile Bumacov and Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations Regional Representative for Moldova Tony Alonzi signed a collaboration program for 2014-2015.
Bumacov said that the programme prioritised the FAO intervention in the next two years to supporting the objectives set by the Moldovan government. "A part of the FAO assistance will be used to prepare programmes, and funding will also be attracted from several international bodies for their implementation", said Bumacov.
The program sets several areas of assistance, including: the rural development agricultural policy’s alignment with the EU standards, preservation and management of the natural resources, reducing the impact of exceptional climatic events on agricultural production and sustainable agriculture.
