Ukraine, China to Avoid Trade Contradictions in Bilateral Trade
OREANDA-NEWS. December 20, 2013. Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China have exchanged with thoughts and information targeting to stir up Ukrainian and Chinese companies to act pursuant to the current legislation of the participating states, a procedure of making investigations and applying of trade protection rules in practice.
“There have been considered an opportunity of intensive cooperation between the national associations of producers and reached an agreement on furthering work directed to avoiding trade conflicts in bilateral trade,” deputy director of the department for WTO cooperation and trade protection of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Nataliya Kolmakova informed.
Members of the Ministry of Economic Development informed the Chinese colleagues about the results of monitoring of bilateral trade in industry (machine-building, instrument production, chemical and related branches - metallurgic, glass and ceramic industries) and discussed separately trade positions that arise concern in terms of growing import with reducing the price.
“Ukraine and China are full-fledged WTO members that take proper place in the international trade system and the world economy in whole. Taking into account the current conditions the questions of particular concern include usage of instruments of trade protection in the international trade and applying of generally approved international legal mechanisms acting in the WTO framework,” Nataliya Kolmakova stressed.
The results of the conducted work will be informed to respective associations of Chinese producers, the representatives of the Chinese party assured. So, it will be possible to avoid harm caused to Ukrainian industry branches as a result of growing import along the respective positions.
