Industrial Output in Moldova Increases by 5,9 % in Jan-Oct
OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2013. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, in October 2013 the industrial output increased compared to October of the last year by 3%. In January - October 2013 the volume of production in mining industry increased in comparison with the same period of the last year by 19.8 % and in processing industry- by 6.4%, respectively.
According to NBS, enterprises producing food and beverages increased production compared with the same period of 2012 by 0.9%. During this period, the production of distilled alcoholic beverages grew by 35.6%, grain mill products, starches and starch products - by 30.4 %. Growth in processing and canning of fish and fish products industry made 11.8%. The volume of processing and preserving of fruits and vegetables increased by 9.5%.
Manufacture of cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery products increased by 9.1%, dairy products - by 8%, bread and pastry products - by 5.8%. Production, processing and preserving of meat and meat products grew by 3%. At the same time, the production of vegetable and animal oils and fats reduced by 81.8 %, mineral water and soft drinks - by 10.5%, wine - by 6.1%.
According to NBS, in January-October 2013 the production of electrical machinery and equipment increased by 37.1% , the output in steel industry- by 32.6%, in chemical industry – by 21.3%. Production of other non-metallic mineral products increased by 21.8%, furniture - by 3.1%, medical, precise and optical instruments - by 1.5%. At the same time, for 10 months of 2013 tobacco output fell by 19.9%. Output in "Publishing, printing and reproduction of informational materials” section declined by 16.8 %.
Production of wood and wooden products decreased by 14.1% , machinery and equipment - by 10.8 % , fabricated metal products , except for machinery and equipment - by 7.4% , TV-radio equipment and communications – by 7.1%. Paper and cardboard production fell by 4.1 % , leather, leather goods , shoes - 3%, clothing, including dressing and fur - by 1.5%, textiles - by 1.2 %, rubber and plastic products – by 0.9%. Production in the energy sector in this period declined by 1.3 %.
The supply of steam and hot water decreased by 3.7 % and production and distribution of electricity-by 0.6%, respectively.
