OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2013. This was discussed during the regional conference "Path to strengthening territorial cooperation within the Eastern partnership countries: territorial cooperation Program Moldova-Ukraine".

The conference was attended by more than 150 representatives of regional authorities, local governance, civil society organizations from the cross-border regions of Moldova and Ukraine, as well as European experts. During the conference, the participants discussed priorities, general problems, specific tasks, as well as necessities and peculiarities of territorial cooperation aimed at socio-economic development of the border regions of Moldova and Ukraine.

The conference is organized by the Program of assistance to territorial cooperation of the "Eastern partnership" countries (EaPTC Support Programme) financed by EU. The program aims to create favorable conditions for territorial cooperation programs Azerbaijan - Georgia, Armenia - Georgia, Belarus-Ukraine, Moldova - Ukraine with the account of specificity of each region, as well as strengthening the capacity of local and regional state bodies and civil society organizations in the development and implementation of joint trans-boundary projects of territorial cooperation.

The cost of four territorial cooperation programs of the Eastern partnership countries covered by EU will make 12.5 million euros.
