OREANDA-NEWS. Polish business travelers love Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Readers of the renowed Business Traveller Poland trade publication have chosen Frankfurt Airport as the "Best Airport in Europe". Winfried Hartmann, Fraport AG's head of sales and customer services, graciously accepted the "Best Airport in Europe Award 2013" at the magazine's first awards ceremony, held recently in Warsaw, Poland.

Business Traveller Poland surveyed business travelers and travel managers of Polish companies about their travel experiences and asked them to vote for the best service providers in various categories, including "Best Airport in Europe".

For years, Fraport has been investing in service enhancements at FRA, designed to make transferring as easy and enjoyable as possible - especially for business travelers. Examples include fast lanes, automated checks, free Wi-Fi, waiting areas with a lounge atmosphere, and a huge range of top-quality shopping opportunities and food & beverage establishments. These initiatives are now paying off, as this latest recognition from the neighboring country of Poland shows. Fraport AG and Frankfurt Airport say Bardzo dziekuje (many thanks) to its customers in Poland.

FRA is well connected to Poland via seven gateways covering the country: Crakow (KRK), Gdansk (GDN), Katowice (KTW), Poznan (POZ), Rzeszow (RZE), Warsaw (WAW) and Wroclaw (WRO). For the current timetable, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa and Lufthansa CityLine offer a total of more than 150 flight frequencies and almost 16,200 seats per week from FRA to Poland.

To make layovers and transfers even more pleasant for passengers at FRA, Fraport AG launched its "Great to Have You Here!" service quality program several years ago. Frankfurt Airport is Europe's leading transfer hub, with well over 50 percent of all passengers connecting to another flight. In 2012, FRA welcomed a total of more than 57 million air passengers.
