OREANDA-NEWS. December 16, 2013. Russia is ready to discuss gas price for Ukraine. It was stated by President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in the course of the meeting with Presidents Leonid Kravchuk, Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yushchenko.

"Ukraine cannot pay such price for gas. It exceeds the average European price by more than 200 USD. We have lost more than 20 billion USD in the last 3.5 years. This issue must be settled primarily. Today, Russia agrees to discuss this topic because it also has economic problems of losing Ukrainian market," the Head of State noted.

According to him, stable functioning of the economy is impossible without restoration of normal trade relations with Russia. Viktor Yanukovych emphasized that Ukraine was working over the solution of problems emerged between Ukraine and Russia in recent years.
