OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2013. By the results of 2012 TATNEFT Company has been recognized as the absolute winner of the Republican contest "ECOleader" for the tenth time.

Also JSC "TANECO" (subsidiary of JSC TATNEFT) has been recognized as the best company and awarded the first place in the nomination "For the introduction of technologies for collecting and processing of secondary resources, energy-saving and environmentally efficient technologies".

The "ECOleader” is an annual contest held under the auspices of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The winners and laureates are selected by the Commission in five categories. The participants of the contest are large and small enterprises of Tatarstan, municipalities, national parks, nature reserves, etc.

The main objective of the contest is dissemination of best operating practices of the enterprises and organizations with regard to environmental and resource saving activities, as well as stimulating the environmental activities of the Republic of Tatarstan’s enterprises. This year, the contest "ECOleader" was attended by about 300 companies and organizations from all sectors of the national economy, individual entrepreneurs, local governance authorities, public and religious organizations and humanitarian sphere institutions. JSC TATNEFT has been annually participating in this contest since 2004. The latest award reaffirms again the consistent course of TATNEFT’s responsible environmental policy and high efficiency of environmental measures implemented by the Company in the region of its activities.

The same day awarding of the Republican media contest "Man and Nature" winners was also held. Among the winners there were the "Oil News" newspaper actively headlining nature preservation issues, thereby contributing to environmental education and development in the south-eastern part of Tatarstan. The corporate edition of the Company took first place among the corporate media of the Republic.
