Russian Grids and Arkhangelsk Region Discuss Industry Development
OREANDA-NEWS. A working meeting of the Region Head Igor Orlov and Deputy General Director – Technical Director of Russian Grids, JSC Sergey Arkhipov has taken place on the premises of the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region. Among the conference participants were representatives of the regional government, Chief Engineer of IDGC of the North-West Andrey Gorokhov and Director of Arkhenergo branch Igor Kotenko.
The parties discussed issues related to construction of 110 kV “Tsentralnaya” substation with capacity equal to 2х40 MVA in the administrative center of the Primorye Region. The new feeding center will ensure an opportunity for technological connection of residential construction, business and industrial facilities as well as those of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University. Additionally, construction of the power unit will enable creation of a 110 kV ring circuit in Arkhangelsk which will considerably improve reliability of power supply to consumers in the center of the city.
In the course of the conference the parties also agreed on a series of measures that will ensure creation of preconditions for migration from the non-price zone which will enable considerable cheapening of electric energy. In particular, one considered the issue of construction of second links of “Konosha-Plesetsk” and “Konosha-Zaovrazhye” 220 kV overhead lines and “Mikun-Zaovrazhye” line.
The conference participants considered the Solovetsky Archipelago development prospects. The project involves organization of external power supply for the archipelago through laying a 40 km long 35 or 110 kV underwater cable line from the side of Letnyaya Zolotitsa settlement (Primorsky District) to the substation in Bolshoy Solovetsky Island. The project implementation will additionally enable consolidation of the grids already in place in the Onega District of the Arkhangelsk Region and switchover of the populated localities of the territory concerned (currently powered from diesel power plants) to centralized electric power supply as well as enhanced reliability of the Russian Railways grids electric power supply.
