Ukraine Prepares Agro-Industrial Complex to EU Integration
OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2013. Ukraine continues preparation of national agrarian sector to entering of its products to the European market. At the same time the work is intensified in the direction of strengthening positions of Ukraine on other not less important sales markets.
As over 10 months the largest amount of national agricultural products were exported to Asian countries – 34.4%. The second place – the EU countries (almost 27%), the third – CIS states (22.5%). Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk informed during a telethon on the First National channel.
“Today the discussion is on not just concerning the choice of way, as it has been determined by the President and it is a European way, but concerning the speed of integration processes. And the first task is to become a full-fledged partner. The agrarian sector is an export-focused branch. Hence, we are strengthening work targeting to ensure readiness to enter the European market on equal conditions, protecting our positions maximally,” Mykola Prysyazhniuk stressed.
At the same time, the Minister highlighted for the national agrarian sector it was important not just presence on the European market. Regional structure of agricultural production export over 10 months appears the proof. So, the largest amount of the national agrarian production has been exported to the Asian countries – 34.4%, the second place – to the EU countries (almost 27%), the third place – the CIS states (22.5%).
“We continue to work along various directions. As we realize that we cannot just wait anything from western or eastern, or northern neighbours. Every partner, first of all, takes care about its own interests. That’s why we have to demonstrate economic patriotism and protect maximally our national economic interests,” the chief of the department emphasized.
