OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2013. The Government adopted a prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which provides the signing of the Supplementary Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the European Union represented by the European Commission to increase funding for the program "Support to regional development in Ukraine" dated on December 19, 2012.

"Development of the Regions of Ukraine is one of the key priorities of the Government. Involvement of additional financial resources will allow unleashing their potential and forming a basis for sustainable development of the national economy," said Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Anatoliy Maksyuta.

Signing of the additional agreement will increase funding of the European Commission of grant projects by 11 million euros (from 14 to 25 million euros) in the framework of competitions on selection of projects for the implementation of programs of regional and local development, the implementation of which will contribute to the social and economic development of regions.

The Agreement on financing of the program "Support of the policy of regional development in Ukraine" came into force on December 19, 2012, the total amount of the Agreement is EUR 20 million.
