OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2013. A VTB delegation headed by First Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board Yuri Soloviev visited the operations of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat to discuss the expansion of their partnership, in particular the potential project financing of the petrochemicals producer’s planned acrylic acid plant.

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat is one of VTB’s strategic clients, and the companies are planning to work closely together on a number of projects. VTB Bank currently accounts for over 50% of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat’s borrowing, having provided around RUB 30 billion. VTB also provides guarantee operations to Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, with more than RUB 30 billion extended since the beginning of 2013, as well as transaction, exchange and deposit services.

During VTB’s visit, the company broke ground for the new acrylic acid plant in a formal ceremony at its production site. The event was also attended by Kirill Seleznyov, Head of the Gas & Liquid Hydrocarbons Processing and Marketing Department at Gazprom, and Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat CEO Damir Shavaleyev.

Later, Mr Soloviev attended the opening ceremony for a local branch of the SKA St. Petersburg Children’s Ice Hockey Club. VTB’s sponsorship has made an invaluable contribution to local social infrastructure development with regard to children’s and youth sports.
