Sakhalin Energy Exported 300th Oil Cargo
OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2013. The ‘Sakhalin Island’ tanker will deliver the anniversary oil cargo to the port of Yosu in South Korea. The oil is intended for GS Caltex Singapore Pte Ltd., a Singapore company that has been a regular customer of Sakhalin Energy.
The anniversary cargo matched another significant achievement - the fifth anniversary of safe hydrocarbon shipments. About 16-17 tonnes of oil enters the Prigorodnoye production complex daily. It is stored in two oil tanks with the capacity of 95 tons each.
The five years of safe shipments show that the oil export terminal handles all its tasks successfully. Above all, environmental safety during oil loading into tankers, which is one of the most important priorities of terminal activities, is ensured. Effective cooperation with port services, advanced technologies and high level of employees’ qualification are key to this success.
Since commercial production started, Sakhalin Energy has produced and exported almost 41.1 mln tonnes of Vityaz oil to the Asia-Pacific market. Vityaz oil blend is low-sulphur, with high content of light and medium light hydrocarbon fractions used for production of petroleum, kerosene, diesel fuel and crude petrochemical materials. It is purchased by the energy and oil refining companies of Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, USA, Philippines, and Thailand.
