OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2013. Together with Strategy Links, Vnesheconombank and the Abu Dhabi Investment Company (Invest AD), Sberbank co-sponsored the investment conference “AccEssMeeting UAE - Russia 2013" - a road show of investment projects within the Russian regions which is taking place in Abu Dhabi.

The purpose of the conference is the expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the UAE. Particular attention is being paid to the establishment of international business contacts and business dialogue aimed at attracting foreign investment for projects at the regional and municipal levels. The conference is also focusing on studying the capabilities of private and sovereign wealth funds and financial and banking institutions in the UAE when financing infrastructure, industrial, harbor, airport and other projects in the Russian regions.

At the session "Sberbank in the UAE: Strategic plans and strategic partners" Alexander Dementyev, Head of the Financial Institutions Division of Sberbank, made a presentation about the bank and its strategy in the Middle East. Co-speakers were the representatives of Invest AD, Emirates NBD banks and National Bank of Abu Dhabi, the UAE's sovereign wealth fund.

Conference participants from the Arab side included the representatives of the UAE Government, the leading investment funds and the UAE companies. From the Russian side participants included representatives of Vnesheconombank, Russian Direct Investment Fund, heads of regional development corporations, and representatives of the economic bloc administrations of a number of Russian regions.
