OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2013. After the results of the International Contest for All-Russian Prize “Ecological Development – Evolution Awards”, established by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Group of Companies “Titan” became the leader in nomination “Best Producer of Ecologically Efficient Equipment”.

GC “Titan” received the prize, established within the framework of the Year for Environment Protection, for its project “Unit for Complex Processing of Feedstock of Vegetable Origin”.

Altogether more than 60 claims were submitted for participation in the contest. They were evaluated by experts by several criteria: efficiency, ecological and socio-economical significance of the project, and also conformity to priorities, defined by Bases of State Policy in the sphere of ecological development of the Russian Federation for the period till year 2030, approved by the President of the Russian Federation.

The contest’s commission was headed by the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Sergey Donskoy.

Ceremony of the winners’ and laureates’ awards of the prize will take place on 4 December within the framework of IV All-Russian Convention on Environment’s Protection.

Let us mention, that the Group of Companies “Titan” received patent for modular pyrolysis unit on 10 November, 2012. One of the authors of this development, which proposes complex approach to reaching the aims of rational use of forest resources, is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC “GC “Titan” Mikhail Sutyaginsky.

Owing to the rationalizers, the wastes from timber-processing complex are virtually completely converted into energy-valuable products.

The unit passed trials and has already been functioning for several years on the territory of Omsk region. It was detected, that application of such units can be regarded not only as a separate business with short period of cost recovery, but also as a method for increasing profitability of timber-processing and agricultural enterprises.

The project which achieved decisive victory in the international contest, was supported by the government of Omsk region and included into the Program of Development of the Regional Timber-Processing Cluster, which is one of the major points for growth in the Strategy of Socio-Economic Development of Omsk Region till year 2025.

The development received acclaim also on the international level and on the energy forum in Moldova in year 2012, where the project was highly praised by representatives of various countries of the world.

It was planned, that the unit will be applied not only in Russia, but also in CIS countries, for example, in Kazakhstan which pays much attention to development of renewable energy in connection with exhibition “EXPO Astana 2017” and where Group of Companies “Titan” had already realized a number of projects connected with application of alternative energy sources.
