OREANDA-NEWS.   In recent days, Statoil has exercised 11 options with nine maintenance & modification (M&M) and isolation, scaffolding & surface protection (ISS) suppliers. The options are worth NOK 10 billion in the period 2014 to 2016.
The M&M and ISS contracts were entered into on 1 August 2010 with terms of four years and options for additional two years.

The M&M work is performed on 22 facilities offshore/onshore. As regards ISS, this is performed on 20 facilities offshore/onshore.

"Statoil wants competent suppliers which can contribute to safe and efficient operations. The exercising of the options is based on an assessment of several factors, such as experience, future needs, market development, HSE and quality. These contract extensions will have ripple effects in Norwegian industry," says Jon Arnt Jacobsen, Chief Procurement Officer in Statoil.
