OREANDA-NEWS. United Continental Holdings announced that William (Bill) Nuti is joining its Board of Directors effective today.

Nuti is chairman, CEO and president of NCR Corporation, the global leader in consumer transaction technologies. Since his arrival at NCR in 2005, Nuti has orchestrated a highly successful reinvention of the global technology company. Prior to joining NCR, Nuti served as president and CEO of Symbol Technologies, Inc. Nuti joined Symbol from Cisco Systems, Inc. where he served in the dual role of senior vice president of the company's Worldwide Service Provider Operations and senior vice president of U.S. Theater Operations.

"Bill is a great addition to our board of directors," said UAL Chairman, President and CEO Jeff Smisek. "Bill has unique experience helping businesses connect with their customers using technology, and he will be a tremendous asset as we expand our online, mobile and customer self-service options at United."

Nuti is a member of the Georgia Institute of Technology advisory board and a Long Island University trustee. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from Long Island University.
