Belarus Will Expand Industrial Exports to Azerbaijan
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus is planning to increase industrial exports to Azerbaijan, Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitri Katerinich told Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev in Baku on Thursday.
According to Katerinich, sales to Azerbaijan have considerably increased this year. Automotive equipment and tractors accounted for the major part of supplies. Belarus' Amkodor is expected to expand its presence on the market of Azerbaijan in the near future. “I see good prospects for the next year. Today we are expected to sign a contract which stipulates the delivery of 300 MAZ knock-down kits in Q1 2014 and about 220 tractor knock-down kits in H1 2014. We have also agreed to launch the production and delivery of both Amkodor knock-down kits and end-piece equipment,” Katerinich told reporters.
In his words, Belarus' supplies to Azerbaijan will double in 2014. A project envisaging the production of component parts for MAZ vehicles at the Sumgait technological park is seen as a promising area. “We hope to produce component parts for the company that produces Belarusian equipment Azerbaijan and also supply them to Belarus,” Katerinich noted.
Azerbaijan assembles Belarusian tractors, trucks, elevators, machinery, optical equipment and lamps. The Ganja Automobile Plant is leading in industrial cooperation.
