OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank CIB announces the appointment of Frederic Blondel as Head of FX and Flow Derivatives Corporate Sales, FI & Derivative Products Sales Subdivision, FICC Division, Global Markets Department, Managing Director, based in Moscow. Frederic joins the company in December and will report to Andrey Chuprin, Head of FI & Derivative Products Sales, Managing Director and Steven Weller, Head of FX Trading, Managing Director.

Frederic joins Sberbank CIB with over twenty years' experience in international FX markets, including eight years at RBS/ABN AMRO. Most recently, he held the position of Head of Western European Banks FX Sales at RBS, where he was responsible for a team of seven salespeople. During his tenure at RBS he also led electronic FX sales rollout for corporate sales in Western Europe, CEEMEA and America in his capacity as Head of Western European Banks FX Sales for Corporates. Before joining RBS, Frederic spent five years as Head of Western European Banks FX & IR Sales for Corporates at ABN AMRO. Frederic started his career at BUE-CIC in Paris and has also held positions at Citibank and JP Morgan Chase.

This appointment is the latest in a number of senior hires in 2013 as Sberbank CIB continues to expand its FICC team. Its team has recently added a number of Managing Directors including Sascha Prinz as Head of Rates, Francois Mantion as Head of Commodity Trading, Steven Weller as Head of FX Trading. Other recent hires in the Global Markets Department at Sberbank CIB also include Nick Harwood as Head of Equity, Managing Director, Raymond Bird as Head of Strategic Equity Financing, GM Trading, Managing Director, and Damian Bunce as Head of Direct Market Access, Managing Director.

Frederic Blondel will take office once the appointment has been approved by the regulator.
