OREANDA-NEWS. On November, 28 within the scope of Days of Karelia in Moscow Head of the republic Alexander Khudilainen has made a presentation Karelia's economic potential and investment prospects.

Representatives of federal ministries and departments, the Government of Moscow, potential investors from among Russian entrepreneurs, members of Karelian association of fellow-countrymen in Moscow have attended the presentation.

Recruitment of investors, expansion of inter-regional cooperation, strengthening of trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural communications are priorities of the policy pursued by the Government of Karelia. Days of Karelia in Moscow as a whole, as well as the presentation of the republic's economic potential are called to promote it.

In his opening remarks Alexander Khudilainen has emphasized that the current event means revival of tradition of presentation of the potential of Karelia in various regions.

Head of the republic has thanked mayor of Moscow and the Government of the capital for the opportunity to hold such presentation.

I'm sure that it will become a very powerful impulse and will cause serious interest of business of Moscow region to Karelia, - Alexander Khudilainen said.

Vadim Korniyenko, Deputy head of the department of inter-regional cooperation, national policy and relations with religious organizations of Moscow. has addressed to participants of the meeting with words of welcome.

Vadim Korniyenko has congratulated the audience on Days of Karelia in Moscow and has read out the testimonial of mayor of the capital of Russia Sergey Sobyanin.

The testimonial, in particular, says: “The Republic of Karelia, the long-standing partner of the capital, is attractive for not only its investment opportunities, but also for its original culture, cordiality and hospitality, unique and beautiful nature. I'm sure that the event held within the framework of Days of the Republic of Karelia will promote further expansion of our mutually advantageous cooperation.”

During the presentation Head of the Karelia has denoted the republic's potential and advantages in traditional spheres - such as timber and mining industries, tourism, as well as in such perspective directions as development of minerals and IT-technologies, has presented plans of its economic and infrastructural development.

Alexander Khudilainen has pointed out that the republic pursues a policy promoting recruitment of investors focused on formation of favorable investment climate. This work already yields its results. Today large capital starts to show interest to the region.

Besides, Head of Karelia has told about preparation for a grand event which is the republic's centenary.

We have a unique historical opportunity to take advantage of the forthcoming anniversary to establish a powerful foundation for social and economic development of Karelia. Therefore, the important task is to see a commendable image of the republic in immediate prospects, - Alexander Khudilainen emphasized.

After the presentation the public has an opportunity to ask question to Head of Karelia. The guests could discuss the presentation in detail during round table meetings organized on various topics: investment prospects of Karelia, location of economic activities within the territory of the republic, cooperation in mining, timber industry and agriculture, development of social and cultural spheres. Heads of the regional ministries spoke in the capacity of moderators of round table meetings.

Commenting on results of the presentation for journalists from Karelia and Moscow Alexander Khudilainen has informed that Days of Karelia will be also held in other regions, first of all, where business is active and large investment projects are implemented.

I'm sure that such activity of our republic does not go unnoticed. Within the past year we have made several presentations of Karelia in Finland. Today Finns start to make their investment proposals actively. We count that Karelia's emerging opportunity will also interest business in Moscow. The republic will hospitably open the doors wide to investors, - Head of the Karelia said.
