OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2013. Qatar Petroleum (QP) recently hosted the 33rd bi-annual Drilling Operations Incident Review Committee (DOIRC) Meeting, which was held to review and discuss the health, safety and environmental (HSE) issues related to drilling operations.

The meeting, which was held last November 13 at the Doha Marriott Hotel, was chaired by Mr. Talib Abdulla Al-Mehana Al-Murri, Operations Manager - Drilling of QP. Major operators and contractors in Qatar’s oil and gas industry participated in the meeting.

The DOIRC Meeting focused on sharing the lessons learned from recent incidents as part of efforts to continuously enhance HSE initiatives within the sector.

Mr. Al-Murri emphasized that the participants have a duty to share the knowledge gained in their organizations’ operations to help provide a safe and secure work environment for everyone. He also highlighted the efforts initiated by QP’s Drilling Department to promote an HSE culture within the corporation’s employees and its contractors’ staff.
