Gazpromneft Aero Begins Refueling AirBaltic Planes at Major Airports
OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft Aero and Latvian airline AirBaltic have signed a deal for refueling regular flights in Barcelona, Spain; Paris, France; Kaunas, Lithuania; and Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, Egypt. This is the first time that Gazpromneft Aero will be refueling the airline's aircraft at Barcelona-El Prat airport, as well as Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris and Kaunas International Airport.
The contract is to last one year, and involves a tenfold increase of fueling operations for AirBaltic conducted via Gazpromneft Aero's network outside Russia. The total volume of fuel to be supplied under the agreement will exceed seven thousand tons.
Gazpromneft Aero plans to expand its collaboration with AirBaltic in the long run. At present, the airline is developing a network of connecting flights through Riga to over sixty airports in Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, the CIS, and the countries of the Middle East.
Gazpromneft Aero fuels AirBaltic flights abroad in partnership with direct aviation fuel suppliers, including the French company Air Total, the Portuguese company Galp Energia, as well as the Lithuanian fuel company Baltic Oil.
