Testing of Hydrogen Production Installation Started at TANECO
OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2013. Commissioning tests have been started at the hydrogen production installation of the combined hydrocracking complex of the "TANECO" Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex in Nizhnekamsk.
Hydrogen production is an integral part of the whole hydrocracking process. Currently the installation has been put in the mode of comprehensive testing. Purity of the final product has amounted 99.99 percent.
The project documentation of the facility has been developed by JSC "Giprogazoochistka" and JSC "VNIPIneft". The contractors for construction are "Servistehnomontazh", "NefteGasEngineering", "Tatspetsneftehimmontazh" Management Company, "NP "Tsentromontazhavtomatika", JSC "Salavatneftehimremstroy", JSC "Trust No.21 Building Company", "Spetsenergomontazh", "Neftehimzavodstroy" and JSC "Kamgesenergostroy".
The manufacturers and suppliers of the equipment are both Russian and foreign ones: Bugulma Mechanical Plant of JSC TATNEFT, Volgovyatsky mechanical plant, "NPO "Ufaneftegazmash", Z NPF "EnergoTransServis - TSA", JSC "Uralkhimmash", ILSUNG CORPORATION (South Korea), Heurtey Petrochem (France), Borsig GmbH (Germany) and UOP (USA).
The installation design capacity by raw materials is 100 thousand tons per year.
Information Reference
The essence of the hydrogen production at the installation is that the raw material (natural gas) is compressed, heated in the convection section of the steam reforming furnace and fed into the reactor for removal of sulfur compounds. Superheated water steam is added to purified gas at the reactors' output and the resulting steam-gas mixture is fed to the steam reforming furnace. The converted gas is sent to the recovery boiler, where it is cooled and fed into the first carbon monoxide conversion reactor. After cooling in the recovery boiler the steam-gas mixture further enters the second carbon monoxide conversion reactor. The mixture of hydrogen, carbon dioxide and water steam leaving the reactor is cooled and fed to the pressure swing adsorption unit, wherein the separation occurs in the hydrogen product and the low-calorific fuel gas.
