OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2013. O'Hare International Airport's ICE Dishes & Drinks, operated by HMSHost, has been honored with the Best New Food & Beverage Concept (Full Service) award by Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA), through the Richard A. Griesbach Excellence in Airport Concessions awards program.

ICE, located in O'Hare Terminal 3, L Concourse, is a chic, upscale bar and lounge offering sophisticated cold dishes, inventive cocktails with designer ice, vodkas from around the world, a wide variety of wine and bubbly, as well as beer and spirits. The restaurant's interior features plush seating, chandeliers, metallic accents and mirrors throughout. ICE opened at O'Hare in June 2012.

"When you step into ICE Dishes and Drinks, the chic, contemporary look and feel, and attention to detail in your cocktails and entrees make you feel like you've entered an exclusive lounge," said Rosemarie S. Andolino, Commissioner, Chicago Department of Aviation. "I congratulate HMSHost for receiving this award and for working with the CDA to continuously raise the bar and diversify our food and beverage offerings for travelers at Chicago's airports."

The Best New Food & Beverage Concept award presented to HMSHost for ICE was one of several that were presented this week at the ACI Airport Concessions Conference in Sacramento. The purpose of the ACI-NA Excellence in Airport Concessions Contest is to inspire creativity in the industry and to recognize innovative and outstanding airport concessions. These awards help to demonstrate the growing importance of concessions to the total airport experience.
