NECSA, United Company NIAEP-ASE and NUKEM Technologies GmbH Sign MoU
OREANDA-NEWS. The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation SOC Limited (NECSA), United Company NIAEP- ASE and NUKEM Technologies GmbH (Germany, 100% subsidiary of “Atomstroyexport”) have signed the Memorandum of Understanding during the ROSATOM organized Nuclear Industry Suppliers Forum “ATOMEX Africa” held on November 25, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The companies agreed to develop strategic cooperation in engineering, design, procurement and construction of complex capital projects and facilities. The Parties are interested in developing projects and initiatives in the nuclear industry in South Africa, expanding their mutual presence in the nuclear market and industry of South Africa, in establishing partnerships and providing necessary support and involvement of local South African companies working for nuclear and power industries.
NECSA, United Company NIAEP- ASE and NUKEM Technologies have defined priority segments for developing joint engineering and construction projects and business opportunities: nuclear and thermal power facilities, facilities and solutions for nuclear waste and spent fuel treatment and storage, solutions for decommission and remediation of nuclear and other hazardous facilities, as well as other relevant engineering facilities and solutions .
In addition to joint business activities in the South African market, the Parties aim at joint business initiatives on other geographical markets, global supply chain development for ROSATOM, NIAEP-ASE and NUKEM Technologies Group projects, as well as other clients worldwide.
Nuclear Industry Suppliers Forum “ATOMEX Africa” is considered as a communication and networking venue for industry professionals and suppliers, providing an opportunity for sharing of advanced experience, plans and approaches to nuclear power industry development. It is held to develop cooperation with South African suppliers of materials, equipment and services for Rosatom Global Supply Chain for nuclear power plants construction, including projects in Republic of South Africa.
